Good afternoon,
2023 is over - happy new year!
We wanted to share an update with you on The Kent Business Post after an exciting launch year.
Last year, we published 20 articles and newsletters on the Kent business ecosystem and economy, ranging from deep dives into the property market to long-reads on the future of the county’s work force. We now have a growing subscriber list of business leaders and executives, increasing our subscriber list by a third in December alone. In the last quarter of 2023, we averaged around 500 readers per month, and we continue to grow each month. Through all of this, we remain committed to our ethos of delivering quality local business journalism that actually matters.
As this year begins, we have refreshed our focuses and modernised our approach. We are also restructuring the way we deliver the content to align more with the main themes and trends dominating the minds of business leaders across Kent. We have therefore launched five content pillars:
Economics: trends and deep dives into the county’s economy, workforce, and business ecosystem;
Leadership: interviews with the county’s key decision-makers;
Capital Markets: monitoring the largest firm’s in Kent who are listed on the stock market;
Start-ups: coverage of innovation, emerging technology and entrepreneurs;
Sectors: tracking of key sectors in Kent such as beverages, financial services, life sciences, real estate and others.
This structure will enable us to publish the stories and analysis our audience is looking for each week. To curate this content, we will launch a new monthly “special report” newsletter to correspond with these pillars. We will be publishing more content than ever before, providing insights into trends and developments that aren’t covered by the usual local media. We will publish the first special edition in the next few weeks.

Over the last two decades, local journalism in Kent has been eroded. As a result, our county’s economy and business ecosystem is rarely covered in any meaningful depth by local newspapers. We started The Post to challenge this, and deliver quality reporting on the firms and founders that are shaking up Kent’s economy because they haven’t received the focus or attention they deserve.
This is an exciting time for our local economy - a volatile period creates challenges but also opportunities for the entrepreneurial many. To truly understand this transformation, we need high-quality, in-depth news analysis and topical features like the content we are producing. We thank all of our readers for supporting this work, and continuing to read our work.
Final thought - please consider joining our free mailing list today to receive local business news and analysis directly to your email inbox each week.
